Action1 Patch Management

This incredible patch management tool is what I use to help make sure all the workstations at the office are up to date for software. Incredible may be an exaggeration, but it is 100% free for up to 100 endpoints, and it is hard to complain about that!

I previously used PDQ to help with inventorying and updating computers, but it was much too limited for the free version. They have wonderful tools, but the cost is obscene for small operations that don't have dedicated IT personnel.

A major goal for this website is to help people in mid-size firms that are in a limbo of not having the resources for full-time IT staff, but have too many employees and workstations to manually manage.

So do yourself a favor and sign up for Action1. Many of the processes, scripts, etc. could work with other solutions with some modifications. You should be reviewing and modifying scripts you find off the internet anyway to make sure they are safe for your environment as well as customized to your needs. Please don't blindly run scripts!
